The Weird Cometh For Ye

The Weird Cometh For Ye

You know what’s coming. If you don’t then you better find out. It’s time for light shows and traveling dragons. Sumo Wrestlers and gogo dancers. Dope music and crazy shenanigans. If you haven’t figured it out I’m talking about Raleigh Gets F*cking Weird! If you still have no idea what I’m talking about let me give you a brief run down.

Gets F*cking Weird is the brainchild of Kyle Biddy, and Boy Beats World. The festival style event started in the queen city of Charlotte and was greeted with critical acclaim. GF*W packed out the Chop Shop and threw one hell of a show. They have kept this high caliber event so consistent that it was awarded “Best EDM Event” of 2013 by Creative Loafing. GF*W has thrown shows In Columbia SC, Ashville NC, Augusta Georgia, and of course, Raleigh, NC. With them now kicking off their spring tour, Gets F*cking weird is launching their “Weekend of Weird.” With stops including Charlotte, Columbia, and of course RALEIGH.

Now these guys played no games when it came to the lineup. With the way these guys play your entire body will be sore from raging so hard. Allow me to introduce you to the musicians of weird

Kyle Biddy
Kyle Biddy is a Charlotte based electro-house DJ that has gone from playing at intimate bars to playing some of the most popular venues in the region. One of the masterminds behind Gets F*cking Weird, Kyle along with Kidnice Entertainment has built one of the most creative events in the Carolinas. His high energy sets has allowed him to grace the stage with sevral big names. Including Girl Talk, Big Gigantic, Flo Rida, Adventure Club, Dada Life, Mimosa, Alvin Risk, Bro Safari, Two Fresh, Figure, Henry Fong, and Candyland. You can often catch him tag teaming with fellow kidnice artist and partner in crime, Boy Beats World.

Boy Beats World
Raleigh Native, now Charlotte resident Boy Beats World kicks ass and takes names when he steps to the decks. Mr. World got his music start 11 years ago as a live music indie artist. fast forward to present day, he has become a heavy hitting producer and DJ since moving to the queen city. Co-creating Gets F*cking Weird and opening for major acts such as Alvin Risk, Bro Safari, and Two Fresh in major venues such as Neighborhood Theatre and The Fillmore. I you get the chance to see him throw down you will probably see him with his partner in crime, Kyle Biddy.

Special Blend
In the Fall of 2012 Chris “Turt” Miles and JonnyLee Dragon Fused their distinct mixing styles to create the tag team monster known as Special Blend. The Noisydubs artists incorporate everything from dubstep and trap, to house and jersey club. Their unique mixing style and stage presence has allowed them to grace stage with Calyx & Teebee, Luminox, Tritonal, The Bolivian Marching Affair, Razihel, AFK, Gein, Vorheez, Archnemesis, Disphemik & Miss Eliza, and Gangsta Fun. You can often catch the duo at their weekly residency at Covert Bass. Held every Tuesday Night at Spy Night Club.

Ancient/Lakes
The Durham Producer/DJ Ancient/Lakes has been making moves lately. Landing an supporting slot for Carnage and now landing a tag team set with the EDM rockstar for GF*W. Blending the sounds of trunk popping trap music with heavy hitting dubstep, Ancient/Lakes is sure to keep the party rocking like a pro. I expect to see him playing around the Oak City a lot more in the near future

X/olf
The first time I ever heard the EDM Rock star X/olf play a set, he wrecked shit. playing dirty, filthy electro house making everyone in the crowd going dumb. If You have ever heard the Howl you know how hard this rockstar throws down on the decks. Don’t believe me? Then ask the people that saw him at the Last GF*W show

Bad Catholics
“Listen, religiously. that’s the motto from heavyweight producer duo Bad Cathlolics. Boone based producers Doppelganger and Tyler Buck have gained the attention of thousands of ears including the one and only MUST DIE! as if the remixes they have pumped out weren’t good enough, Their first original tune “I Want You” has topped the weekly and monthly Dubstep.net charts. Be on the look out for great things coming from minds of these two.

This concludes the stellar lineup. With the detail GF*W puts into their shows, I expect this to be another event of epic proportions. Tickets are currently on sale now for Raleigh. If you just need more weird than that, you can purchase a weekend pass for two or even all three shows. I expect to see all of my Raleigh family out there getting absolutely F*cking Weird!!!

If you’re curious to how weird Raleigh got last time Kidnice boys came through, I’m just going to leave this here. You’re welcome.
