SS Love

Charlotte seems to have been getting back to back shows Lately. From Wolfgang Gartner and Henry Fong, to Dyro and Mimosa. This has been leaving the Raleigh fam asking, “where’s the love?” Well look no further. Sugar Society is back with back to back shows to kick of the spring season.

Most people know March 9th as the Death of Notrious B.I.G. We like to look at it in a more “plurfect” light. Mark your calanders ragers because March 9th signals the coming of Excision,
Dirtyphonics and Ill Gates. Now if you claim to be a bass head and know nothing about these three, I question your bass status. But just in case you don’t, Here’s some quick information on theses sets of bass invaders.

Jeff Able, Better known as Excision is a bass music boss hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Best known for his heavy dubstep tunes and his massive Executioner production Excision has rang ears out across the globe with his PK sound system and mind blowing visuals. To prepare your ear holes for the imminent destruction, here’s his latest Shambhala mix.

Dirtyphonics is a French electronic music group from Paris. Started by artists, Charly, Thomas, and Pho in 2004 and joined by Pitchin in 2009. Their full length album “Irreverence” has shown that the EDM quartet cannot pinned down to one particular genre. Mixing heavy bass music, drum n’ bass, dubstep, and electro with grimy rock energy. Here’s a taste of what Dirtyphonics will bring to the table.

Ill.Gates Is a composer and educator that has been honing his craft over the past 16 years. He has established a strong reputation as one of the most dynamic artists around. With regular tours that span across multiple countries, Gates has solidified a solid worldwide fan base. His Online course “The Ill.Methodology” has been highly anticipated among listeners and producers alike.

You can catch all of these artists March 9th At the Lincoln Theatre for their 2014 tour. Tickets are currently on sale through Eventbrite. Or you could search around the Raleigh area for hard copy tickets since they usually run cheaper.

Now I know you ladies and gents are excited enough at this announcement alone. But I’m going to need you to Keep calm and stop squealing like a horny pig in mud. I still have one other artist to name that’s making their way to Raleigh. Get Ready to welcome back Chipotle Gang leader and festival music guru Carnage.

If you have been to any EDM festival you’ve probably heard of Carnage. From His original Trap bangers like Bang! to Festival Remix’s of well known songs such as Spaceman, Epic, and Cannonball. He’s even known for house tunes such as Incredible (also the name of his radio show), Nr. lover and Michael Jordon. Carnage is well known For high energy sets and shenanigans only he can can bring out of people.

Now SS never fails to throw in some dope local support when they book a show. Giving local artist in the scene their chance to shine. here’s the talent they decided to bring on board for this epic night.

Bad Catolics
Bad Catholics is the collaboration of local heavyweight producers, Doppelganger and Tyler Buck. They have gained buzz from the multiple remixes they’ve done to to tracks such as Zomboy’s “Vancouver Beatdown”, 501’s Inside the “Machine” and Astronaut’s “Rain”. Since their inception, Bad Catholics has already gained a top slot on Dubstep.net with their original tune “I Want You” and has even gained the attention of Never Say Die front man, Must Die!. it’s quite apparent why they would be a first choice selection for direct support

Sean Garrett, better known as Ancient/Lakes is a Producer/DJ from Durham NC. He has some mean mixing skills and has shared the stage with regional headliners Kure, X/olf, ScrewLoopZ, JayTheBiggest, LITT and even The well known EDM heavy hitter, Borgore. If you’ve ever had the chance to see him preform live you will quickly realize why he’s a fan favorite wherever he plays. Be sure to also catch him in April For Raleigh Gets F*cking Weird tag teaming with none other than X/olf.

Whether you call him Cody or King Hobbes, Hobbes has definitely shown that he is a unique and versitile DJ. Mixing unorthodox trap tunes as well as little Jersey Club, He knows how to quickly and efficiently get a party rocking. Check out his soundcloud to check out mixes than will make you want to vibe and rage all at the same time.

Be on the look out for more Sugar Society love in the future. But for now, this should fill your ears with eargasmic greatness
